Finding a Way to Continue Caring During Tough Times
Melissa Sosby, an RN with our Macon, GA office, was directly affected by Hurricane Michael. The category 5 hurricane made landfall in the Florida Panhandle and went north through Georgia.
She and her family weathered the storm in their home in Leesburg, GA. They lost power, water, damage to their roof due to two trees falling on it. Once the storm passed and the assessed the damage, they had to use chain saws to get out of their neighborhood.
Knowing that getting gas would be a problem along with the lack of electricity and water at her home, she decided to stay with an Accountable Travel Nurse who was working at the same hospital. She had housing in a RV (recreational vehicle). They were able to run electricity off of a generator.
Through all of the mess and stress, Melissa worked five 12 hour shifts at her hospital. She was so grateful to Accountable for the support she received and the presents we sent thanking her for her loyalty. We are so grateful for Melissa and all of our dedicated nurses.
