Meet our Traveler of the Week: Laurintia Kadiri
When did you become a nurse and why?
I became a nurse in 2009, It is not a career I chose, It is the career that chose me.
What made you go into travel nursing?
I got into travel nursing for a chance to incorporate my love for change, meeting new people and traveling all while having a steady income.
What has been your favorite location for travel nursing so far and why?
My favorite location for travel nursing thus far has been Espanola, New Mexico. Being a city, Girl, I got to immerse myself in a small town, know the community and see the mountains. It was inspiring and frankly life changing.
What is your favorite thing about travel nursing (the experience, locations, training, etc.)?
My favorite thing about travel nursing is the satisfaction I feel daily after a day of work. When a travel nurse is needed, it is usually at a point where the requesting facility has exhausted every effort to find a nurse/ Going in, I bring much needed help and support for the staff, and most importantly the patients. I walk into a facility with the questions “how, where and what can I do to help out.” It is rewarding in every aspect.
What advice can you give others who are interested in travel nursing?
The advice I will give others who are interested in Travel Nursing is go for it. Let your decision be unencumbered by getting everything just right. Take the leap of faith, talk to other travel nurses, visit travel nursing websites and social media, get a reputable recruiter and remember you are representing not only yourselves, but your company and travel nurses everywhere.
So glad to have you on the Accountable Team. We have some great goodies coming your way!
Safe Travels!!!!
