Meet our Traveler of the Week Lilvette “Lily” Ferrer
When did you become a nurse and why?
I have been a nurse for 16 years. I decided to become a nurse when my niece at 6 weeks old was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. The nurses taking care of her also took care of the family as well. They were compassionate and caring and That’s when I chose that I wanted to become a nurse.
What made you go into travel nursing?
I LOVE to travel and knew I had a career where I can work and travel at the same time. I immediately decided to start travel nursing.
What has been your favorite location for travel nursing so far and why?
Los Angeles, California. I love how diverse the city is and I can also get in my car and drive to either the mountains with snow or enjoy wine tasting at the local vineyards.
What is your favorite thing about travel nursing (the experience, locations, training, etc.)?
My favorite thing about travel nursing would be all the experiences I have been able to enjoy. From traveling to D.C. and enjoying the museums to learning how to ski in Colorado Springs. Each place I have been to has allotted me to get out of my shell to learn and explore.
What advice can you give others who are interested in travel nursing?
Be flexible! Enjoy yourself and explore where ever you go. Travel nursing can be scary at times, but I have never regretted it. I have about 8 years of travel nurse experience.
So glad to have you on the Accountable Team. We have some great goodies coming your way!
Safe Travels!!!!
