Meet our Traveler of the Week Sarah Johnson
When did you become a nurse and why?
2012... I became a nurse because of my caring nature and a desire to be able to provide for my family while being able to have a rewarding career.
What made you go into travel nursing?
I decided to travel to be able to experience and see more than what I was accustomed to at my permanent position. Also, the freedom it provided, as well as, the ability to test myself in new situations.
What has been your favorite location for travel nursing so far and why?
Springfield, MO.... Springfield was great because of the teamwork and camaraderie of the heart team. I also loved being able explore the city.
What is your favorite thing about travel nursing (the experience, locations, training, etc.)?
It's a challenge to be able to walk into somewhere new and be able to let my skills and experience be put to the test. I also enjoy meeting new people and exploring my new city and all it has to offer.
What advice can you give others who are interested in travel nursing?
Do it! It's a great way to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. It provides an avenue to really hone your skills and grow as a professional and as a person.
