Meet our Traveler of the Week: Juliana Appiah
When did you become a nurse and why?
I began my nursing career as a CNA and became a Sterile Technician. I moved to the Sterile Tech field because I did not want to follow my friends ideology of the path from CNA to LPN. I wanted to move ahead in my nursing career and my friend told me about the Sterile Tech field.
What made you go into travel nursing?
I travel because I love going to different places, to experiencing the diversity of the United States and getting paid to do it. That was the best idea ever!
What has been your favorite location for travel nursing so far and why?
The best place I have been to so far is Boston because it was where I got my first contract. At first, I was worried it would be boring and transportation will be difficult since am from New York but to my surprise it was a big city with frequent city buses and subways running. The best part is the food.
What is your favorite thing about travel nursing (the experience, locations, training, etc.)?
I love traveling to different parts of the country. If you are as adventurous as I am, I would recommend a traveling assignment.
What advice can you give others who are interested in travel nursing?
If you're going to travel to spend time in different states why not get paid doing what you already love. And go with the best Agency – Accountable Healthcare Staffing.
Thank you, Juliana. A box of goodies is on the way!
