Daisy Award Winner – Ashraf Abdelhamid

Accountable Healthcare Staffing has partnered with the DAISY Foundation™ to recognize clinicians for the extraordinary skillful, compassionate care they provide patients and families. The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. We are proud to present Ashraf Abdelhamid with the DAISY Award recognizing extraordinary nurses.

"This morning, I had the pleasure of meeting with Ashraf Abdelhamid, RN in the OR, to present the Daisy Award and a well-deserved gift bag. Ashraf is not one to seek the spotlight, but his genuine appreciation for the recognition was palpable."

Jeff Jacobsen

Jeff Jacobsen, our Regional Vice-President of Accountable Healthcare Staffing, NE Region, was instrumental in making this special moment happen. Ashraf expressed his gratitude, saying, "Good morning, I just wanted to say thank you to Kathy for the nomination. It was great to hear all the good things you mentioned. Jeff, thank you for taking the time to come out and meet me this morning. Have a great day."

Ashraf has been a valued member of the Accountable team since 2018, primarily serving on a contract basis at Rush University. During his tenure, he has garnered a stellar reputation among both staff and doctors, often being specifically requested for assignments. Ashraf's commitment to communication is noteworthy, as he proactively keeps me informed about any changes in his schedule. Working with him is a genuine pleasure, thanks to his professionalism and dedication.

This interaction is a testament to the incredible dedication and humility displayed by healthcare professionals like Ashraf, who go above and beyond to make a difference in their patients' lives every day. We are truly fortunate to have individuals like him on our team.

The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, Patrick’s family deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown not only to Patrick but to all of them as well. When he passed, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.
